AW 01 LT What is graphic design?

This week is about graphic design, and what that actually is. We start by getting to know Adobe Photoshop and go through a beginner’s course. Then we follow a tutorial: «How to create a simple composite in Photoshop», where we learn to combine several images with Blending Mode and Layers Masks and create a composite with creative colour toning and grain.

I have very little previous experience with photoshop, and find that it takes time to familiarize myself with all the different possibilities that are there. Many mistakes are made throughout the process, but that is what contributes to learning. After the tutorial I was going to end up with a pretty cool picture, which I didn’t think I was going to be able to do. But look:

I think photoshop is a bit frustrating, but also a lot of fun, especially when you get it right. I can’t wait to start the next task and learn even more in Photoshop.
