For this task I am supposed to surf the web and find two examples where empathy has made an advert effective in reaching the correct audience.
The first thing I thought of was all the Unicef ads out there. There are ads where I think empathy has a strong impact because of the hungry and sick children, and the parents. When I see this ad down bellow it makes me feel so sorry for this child. Just the picture for itself speaks for itself. And the text «He’s starving. We’re not. It’s time to share», makes it even more clear what the advert are communicating.

The other ad I found is FHI’s about the Covid 19 vaccine. On it it says:
«With the vaccine, we can finally see the future.»
«When enough people are vaccinated, we can do the things we’ve been looking forward to the most. Now many people are offered a vaccine so that we can protect ourselves against corona disease.»
«Corona vaccine is free.»

And to illustrate what they think we are looking forward to, they use an image of an old man hugging two small children. The focus is on the elderly. This ad is trying to make us want to take the vaccine to protect them. For many, the picture communicates love and family, which is often the dearest thing you have.
This task also had a part 2, which consisted of using a portrait image where I had to add a triangular neon light around the person. At the same time, I had to add smoke to create an exciting image. But this assignment didn’t go as I hoped, and I therefore choose not to share it at the moment, hehe.
