TARGET MARKED
To find the target market for Fra Gard, I should also answer these questions, and then research a similar company.
1.What is the problem your product wants to solve?
It is for those who like to buy handmade things, love to eat freshly baked goods, and who like to get to know new places and cultures.
2.Who will most likely experience those problems?
Tourists.
3.Why would they need your product?
Tourists will get to know a new place, with beautiful nature and local products, they will taste fresh products and have the opportunity to buy some handmade gifts for those at home or for themselves. Perhaps there are tourists who need a break from city life and experience the cozy and calm atmosphere Svolvær has to offer.
SIMILAR STORE
I found a similar farm store that apparently does quite well. As they themselves write on their own website, they have been voted Norway’s finest farm shop (2014), and they were the public winner of the Year’s Landige spire (2016).
They have also been featured in a number of magazines and journals.
On their website they write:
“At regular intervals, intimate concerts are held, with nationally well-known and soon-to-be-known artists, in addition to very special evenings with a unique atmosphere and sing-alongs.”
I think this contributes to people also discovering the store, and wanting to shop there. In the shop, they also have locally produced products and meat from their own farm.
